About Mike Austin
CEO – Macon Housing Authority
Mike Austin is a Director on the Board of Macon RBI. He brings over 30 years of experience in affordable housing, supporting individuals and families across Georgia.
Mike has extensive experience with market rate, Section 8, public housing, and LIHTC properties, along with a strong passion for providing high-quality affordable housing for individuals and families throughout Georgia. As CEO, he oversees more than $450 million in real estate assets and over $40 million in annual rental subsidy in Macon-Bibb, leading a diverse team and multiple affiliated entities focused on delivering effective housing solutions for the community.
Mike serves on several Boards including, the Brookdale Resource Center, Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) and currently serves as the Chair for National Housing Compliance Inc., Zeffert and Associates, Inc. and the Better Business Bureau of Middle Georgia, Inc. Mike is currently certified as a Certified Property Manager ® (CPM), a Certified Occupancy Specialist ® (COS), a Public Housing Manager ® (PHM), and is also a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management® (IREM). Mike Graduated from Weber State University with a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, the University of Utah with an MPA and Mercer University with an MBA. Mike is married to Sandra W.
